Choosing the Right Leather
We know good leather. Crafted from the highest tier of top-grain and full-grain Italian leathers, our heirloom-quality leather upholstery has been a hallmark of our craftsmanship since we handcrafted our first club chair. When selecting the right leather, consider how color, texture, durability, and performance complement the spaces you create.

Durable
Leather offers exceptional durability, whether it’s a pigmented leather that resists scratches, staining, and fading, or a full-aniline leather that develops a beautiful patina through everyday use.
Triple the Lifespan
A true heirloom material, leather is often three to four times as durable as fabric. Investing in leather furniture means choosing pieces designed to last for years to come.
Easy to Care for
Leather is surprisingly easy to maintain. Regular dusting and occasional conditioning are all it takes to preserve its beauty, comfort, and character over time.

Unique & Natural Character
The most natural looking leather, full-aniline leather retains the unique physical characteristics of the hide. Color is achieved by immersing hides in transparent, nontoxic dyes. Full-aniline leather does not receive any surface pigment. While this type of leather may have less surface protection than semi-aniline and pigmented leathers, it is softer, and will develop a lustrous patina over time.

Softer, More Even Texture
Semi-aniline leather includes a small amount of pigmented dye. The addition of pigment creates a more uniform appearance while preserving the natural characteristics of the hide and adding a thin layer of protection.

Smooth, Lightly Buffed Finish
Nubuck is a top-grain aniline leather with a nubuck finish. Its lightly buffed surface creates a soft, velvety hand. During the tanning process, a treatment is added to impart water-repellent properties.

Consistent with Uniform Color
A pigmented color coating on the leather hide provides a more uniform appearance and obscures imperfections. While this type of surface coating increases durability and resistance to staining and fading, pigmented leather does not develop a rich patina over time.

Leather Care & Cleaning
To maintain the natural beauty of your leather, simply dry-dust or vacuum. For suede and nubuck, supplement vacuuming with a soft suede brush. To prevent fading avoid placing in direct sunlight.
- Leather spills: Dab immediately with a clean, dry white cloth. Longer set spills: Use lukewarm distilled water and a soft white cloth to massage stain and surrounding area then blot dry.
- Nubuck or suede spills: Follow the above steps, then massage with a suede brush to restore the nap.
